I get emails from people all the time who have run out of room in their apartments (and sometimes houses) and are looking for an easy way to conserve space. I tell them all the same thing. It just so happens that I have found one of the best ways to save space. It's called a "convertible console table."
A convertible console table is a pretty simple idea, really. It starts out as a console table -- you can set it against any wall in your house and place plants, T.V. remotes, picture frames or anything you want on it. Then, it "converts" into a 4-person dining table. One of my good friends uses his as a computer desk for his laptop in the daytime and a dining table for his family in the evening. It is really easy, too. It works on hinges, so you can just slide it out and you're good to go.

This thing looks fantastic as well. The one I personally like has a medium oak finish and really nice slatted panels. A company called Home Styles has a really cheap and sturdy mission style one for only two hundred dollars that anyone can purchase at their local Wal-Mart or Target department stores. That is a great deal considering you are getting a dining table and a desk/console table all-in-one.
Never again will you have to worry about the smaller size of your home. Never again will you need to fret about paying too much for a dining room table or a console table. The answer is here, and it is cheap.
